Childcare By Design

A sense of awe and wonder is pivotal to health and wellbeing throughout life. In addition, the NQS, EYLF and MTOP require us to promote children’s sense of awe and wonder, and an exploration of their being and knowing. Rachel Carson writes in her well-known book, The Sense of Wonder:

"If children are to keep alive their inborn sense of wonder, they need the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with them the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in”

This DVD uses exquisite photographs and videos to explain the meaning of awe and wonder, and to reconnect educators with their own sense of awe and wonder so that they become that adult Rachel describes.
